HSS Entry Instructions
The Online entry process is quite simple for exhibitors:
  1. Create your account (if you don’t already have one) at http://HorseShowsOnline.com
  2. In your member record, create the records for each of your horses, and each person that is an owner, rider, or trainer that you may want to include on an show entry.
  3. Pick the show you want to enter and begin the 5 step wizard to submit your show entry.
  4. The online entry wizard asks for:
    • The horse, owner, trainer and rider(s) for the entry. You choose these from the records created in step 2 above.
    • The classes you want to enter. Just put checkmarks in each class for each rider on the entry
    • Specify the stall fee quantity, and any other special fees you want to order.
    • Confirm your selections
    • Optionally pay using a credit card if the show requires payment to be submitted with the entry OR requires a credit card to be recorded with the entry.
    • Submit the entry and print the completed entry form.
  5. Submitted online entry forms are directly imported into the horse show database. The show manager has the ability to review and adjust the entry information as it's imported into the show's database.
  6. The online entry form is generated automatically by HSS and HorseShowsOnline based on the show's information setup by the Show Manager who also defines which fees are listed on the entry form and the various association numbers that are required.
  7. For shows that want to collect payment with a credit card (NOT River Ridge at this time), the exhibitor can be OPTIONALLY required to provide a credit card when entries are submitted.
  8. The same credit card can be used at checkout time to collect the final payment.
  9. Credit card payments (Which are entirely optional) are directly deposited to your credit card payment gateway just as if you processed the card in the traditional way.

The biggest hurdle for exhibitors is simply getting their HorseShowsOnline account setup with their horses and people. This is pretty straightforward. Basically just input the names and addresses. Once the people and horses are setup entering a show takes only a minute or so.

Here's the entry page for creating an online entry which summarizes the "How To"/ Getting started process:

We would certainly like to bring more HSS users and exhibitors into the online entry system.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to incorporate online entry into your show, streamline your process, save a ton of date entry time, and provide exhibitors with a way to save some postage and time at their end.

I should also point out that we also provide an online add/scratch feature. This lets users change their class selections during the show. They do this at HorseShowsOnline. Class changes are submitted to the show secretary for review and approval.

To encourage your exhibitors to start using online entry, I’d suggest making a prominent note in your prize list and other documentation indicating they can enter the show online.

If you enable online entry in your show, it will show up prominently at HorseShowsOnline as a show you can enter FREE.

The online entry service is FREE to exhibitors.

Many of the younger set expect to do everything online.
